some kinds of sadness are just hard to describe.

I wrote this a while back, and I believe it was my personal record for speed mixing- the entire song, from start to finish, took about three hours. It's not my best, but it was very poignant for me, because it was my best attempt at describing a very specific kind of sadness I'd been having- the kind that's kind of like fatigue, but different.

Almost like fatigue

A peculiar sadness
Almost like a sleep

Can’t ever be free

Piercing down deep
It’s numb and it’s cold and it’s suffocating me
Can’t even count sheep
Just a quizzical sadness
It’s like a disease
It cuts like a knife and drains all life
Until you can’t breathe…
